How should I prepare for my appointment?
Please dress comfortably to your appointment. Avoid wearing make up, cologne, perfume or any hair products like gel or hairspray. If you are a smoker, please refrain from smoking at least 2 hours before your appointment. Do not eat heavy foods before your session. Showing up intoxicated to your appointment will result in the cancellation of your service and full payment will still be required.
Do I have to undress?
No. Always undress to you comfort level. We keep our clients draped at all times and only undrape the area of the body we are working on. Please note, massaging breasts and genitals are beyond our scope of practice at no point will these body parts be exposed during your session. Any sexual misconduct will result in immediate termination of the session and full payment for the scheduled service will still be required. Legal actions may also be pursued.
What type of massage do you do?
We are professionally trained in a variety of modalities that range from deep tissue to reiki. Speak to your massage therapist about your massage goals to see which style of massage is best for you.
Do you offer table showers?
We do not offer table showers nor do we have showers onsite. If you are coming to your appointment after engaging in athletic activities, a day at the beach or a long day at work please plan accordingly.
What type of training do you have?
Massage therapists are required to have at least 500 hours of massage training to receive a license, mandated by the state of New Jersey to lawfully practice massage therapy. Continuing education is required bi-annually to maintain a massage license.
Do you take walk ins?
Currently we can not accommodate walk ins. Our services are by appointment only and scheduling your visit at least a week in advance is highly recommended.
Which forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, Cards, Venmo
How early should I arrive to my appointment?
There is no need to arrive any earlier than your scheduled appointment. Arriving early will not result in a longer session. In addition to the service time schedule we also allow time for any forms that need to be filled out, assessments, undressing/dressing, and checking out.
How often should I get massages?
We are here to help you figure out a plan that is best for you by discussing your massage goals and budget for self care.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice of your plans to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer the opened time to clients we may have had to turn away to specifically reserve time for you. Cancelling or rescheduling your appointment under 24 hours will result in a 50% service cancellation fee.
Are masks required to visit The Resting Nook?
Masks are optional at The Resting Nook. If you are feeling sick, this includes severe allergies and sinus infections, please reschedule your appointment for when you are in better health. Showing up sick to your appointment will result in a cancellation and a full payment for the session will be required.
